Welcome to the world of Web MacPerson – a Virtual Party Guest No doubt there are many others like me – it’s just that I’ve never met them (but you can send me a link me here) |
Within a web page, modesty is a rare commodity, but I must admit that I’m a close relative to a Lap Top and probably less functional than an iPhone – but I do have a jacket with pockets, which is the exact opposite of the iPhone and my Lap is one that YOU can sit on (although I wouldn’t recommend it). Some people have described me as a cross between a computer and a shopping trolley – this is unkind because NO shopping trolleys have been harmed in my creation (although I was seriously tempted). I am transportable - otherwise how would I get out and about ? and self powered - well I’m just waiting for the Solar Panels. However, being dragged around by a bit of old rope does have it’s advantages, it’s cheap and I’m less likely to fall down stairs. I was specifically created to enable Mark and Deebs Davies (in Australia) to ‘attend’ (in the virtual sense) the wedding of Steven Molyneux and Helen Kay (in the United Kingdom) so all I really needed was an internet connection and a web cam for Skype. However, if this didn’t work - and whoever really knows if somebody else’s broadband will reach to a Marquee in the Garden ? then I had to be useful in some other way. Now, if required, I can take the wedding photos (using a Canon G7 with ‘Remote Capture’ and then operate a ‘Video Confessional’ (using the Web Cam and iMovie). I could also run the Disco using iTunes and my (optional) Glitter Ball, but best of all, at the end of the day, I won’t be tired and I can never be sick in your flower beds. |
